Aug 21st @ 4:30-6:00 6th Grade Orientation

Each spring, Franklin County’s fifth graders begin to worry about leaving their elementary schools and entering Cedar Creek Middle School in August. To help alleviate this stress, and to help the students make a smooth transition, Cedar Creek offered a comprehensive orientation program that has now become a tradition looked forward to as a right of passage by the fifth and sixth graders. Fifth graders from Youngsville, Rolesville, Franklinton, and Royal elementaries travelled to the Cedar Creek and were matched up with a sixth grade buddy. On these visits, the sixth graders took their fifth grade buddies along to classes and lunch in the cafeteria, experiencing the ultimate “A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SIXTH GRADER”

Parents and students were also invited to an evening Parent/Student Orientation on Thursday, May 10 at 7:00 p.m. During this time, Principal Brooke Wheeler did a brief overview of the school program and policies, highlighed our awesome Positive Behavior System (PBS), and gave students the chance to try out the “fear-invoking” combination lock.

The process continues August 21st with a more detailed orientation. At that time, students will receive their schedules, meet their teachers, and ask those last minute questions before their big day on Monday.

7th & 8th Grade Back to School Orientation follows at 6:00-7:30 pm
